Kingfish Group drives portfolio outperformance by aligning executives and industry insiders with experience solving precisely the same challenges facing a given company.
One middle market private equity firm, together with Dan Lonergan, acquired a provider of prepaid telecommunications to unbanked and underbanked consumers. The company distributes its product through relationships with retail points of presence such as grocery chains.
Kingfish Group worked closely with Dan to identify and align a series of advisors that could accelerate the company’s growth strategy and retail distribution relationships.
Advisors included a cross-section of senior executives from SBC, AT&T, Kroger, Safeway, Food Lion, and others. The company ultimately placed Paul Higham on its board. Paul previously served as the CMO of Wal-mart, where he spearheaded a multi-billion dollar effort to successfully market to the unbanked and underbanked consumer.
